This is an easy reading stream of consciousness book, a fictional ride along in the mind of the central character. It's worth noting that despite the intimacy of knowing inner thoughts and following those thoughts, in the novel, for two life-changing weeks, at no time do we ever get to know the narrator's name. This must be deliberate.
